77-Inch LG G6 Wall Mount in East Killara — Off the Cabinet, Onto the Wall

A customer in East Killara got in touch about a 77-inch LG G6 that had been sitting on a cabinet since it arrived. He’d already bought the LG WB22EGB slim bracket and had the TV unboxed and waiting in the room. What he wanted was simple enough — that screen off the furniture and flat against the wall, with nothing on show.

What made this one a pleasure was the groundwork. During the build he’d had the studs reinforced in the exact spot the TV was going, and had the cables run into an A/V wall box before the plasterboard went on. He even had photos of the framing to prove it. That’s the way to do it if you’re renovating or building — spend an hour thinking about the TV before the sheeting goes up and you save yourself a lot of grief later.

Slim Bracket Wall Mounting on Stud and Plasterboard in East Killara

The WB22EGB is designed to sit a G-series OLED almost flush to the wall, so there’s no margin for error on the levelling or the fixings. I found the reinforced studs, checked the bracket sat true, and got the screen up. On a 77-inch panel that weight has to land on solid timber — plasterboard anchors won’t cut it, and any decent installer will tell you the same.

Hidden Cables and a Clean Finish on the North Shore

Because the cabling was already sitting in the wall box behind the mount, everything plugged in and disappeared. No conduit, no cords hanging down the wall, no power board on the floor. The screen sits in the recess above the timber bench with the shelves above it, and the whole thing reads as part of the joinery rather than something bolted on afterwards.

If your wall’s stud and plasterboard, brick, or double brick, the approach changes — but the goal doesn’t. Level, solid, and no cables in sight
