I had a great job in Dee Why last week. My customer had just moved from Fairlight and wanted her Samsung The Frame 55 inch properly set up in the new lounge room.

The Frame is not like a normal smart TV to mount. The whole idea is that it looks like a piece of art on the wall, not a television, and that only works if there’s no cable in sight. So the install has to be planned differently right from the start.

Why a Samsung Frame Needs a Different Kind of Install

Every Frame runs off a separate One Connect box instead of plugging straight into the back of the panel. Power, HDMI, and any Foxtel or streaming boxes all go into that unit, and one slim cable runs from there up to the TV. It’s a clever system, but it only works if that cable disappears completely. Otherwise you’ve paid extra for a piece of “art” with a cord hanging out the bottom of it.

Hiding the Cables for This Dee Why Job

For this job I ran the One Connect cable inside the wall, from the TV down to the cabinet below, where the box now sits out of sight. All she sees now is the Frame on the wall sitting flush and clean, and a tidy cabinet with everything tucked away. No box, no cable, no clutter.

Moving house is stressful enough without the TV becoming another job on the list. Because the cable run was internal, there was no visible trunking or surface conduit to work around either — just a clean, finished wall like the TV had always been there.
