Job Description: Samsung QLED TV Wall Mounting using Slim Fit Mount
I have come across this problem a couple of times when mounting the Samsung QLEDs.
The customers have purchased the slim wall mounting bracket which allows the tv to sit millimetres from the wall. The problem I have come across is that the slim bracket is only 450mm from the two furthest holes apart. This is fine on a brick wall as I can mount the bracket on the wall where ever the customer wants. The problem arises when I have to mount the bracket on a timer framed wall. The studs on timer or metal framed walls can be either 450mm or 600mm apart. This bracket has to be mounted exactly where the customer wanted the centre of the tv to be located. The chances of the stud being in the exact position are very slim!
To over come this problem with this customer we used a thin piece of aluminium which was screwed to the metal studs (which were 600mm apart) then I also used gyprock wall anchors which are rated for 20kg each to fix the aluminium/bracket to the wall.
This solution allowed us to still use the slim bracket and mount the tv exactly where the customer wanted. Overall the customer was very happy with the result.
