Not every job is a quick 45-minute bracket-and-go. Some need a bit more thought, the right equipment, and someone who’s done it before. This was one of those jobs.
A customer in Belrose had just taken delivery of a brand new 100-inch Hisense. The TV had arrived, it was in the room, and now it needed to go on the wall. The only problem — no bracket. Not unusual at all. Most people sort the TV first and figure out the rest later.
What they might not have figured on was the weight. This Hisense is over 70kg. That changes things.
What It Actually Takes to Wall Mount a 100-Inch TV on the Northern Beaches
The first thing I did was pull the heavy-duty bracket from the car — rated to 100kg, which I carry specifically for jobs like this. If you do enough installs across the Northern Beaches and North Shore, these big screens come up, and you need to be ready for them.
The wall was standard Gyprock. That’s fine, but on a TV this size, the prep work matters. You’re finding solid fixing points, making sure the bracket placement is right for the height and viewing angle, and double-checking that everything holding that screen is rated for what it needs to hold. It’s not complicated if you know what you’re doing — but it’s not something to wing.
All cables went inside the wall cavity. No conduit, no covers, nothing on show. The customer has a beautiful sage green feature wall behind the TV, and the last thing you want running down that is a cable channel. The finished result is clean and minimal — the 100-inch screen does all the talking.
Streaming Setup for a Belrose Home — No Antenna Needed
There’s no antenna point at this property, which is increasingly common. Streaming-only is a completely workable setup — 9Now, 7Plus, 10Play and ABC iview cover everything free-to-air, and with Netflix, Prime Video or Kayo in the mix, there’s nothing left wanting.
Before leaving, I ran a firmware update on the Hisense — 1.2GB on a brand new TV. Always worth doing before the customer settles in for their first proper watch.
If you’ve got a large TV that needs to go up properly — in Belrose, Frenchs Forest, or anywhere across the Northern Beaches or North Shore — give me a call. I carry the right gear and I know what these installs need.
